Nature is the source of all riches on this planet. The Natural Dyes are from the vegetable origin, are bio-degradable and environment friendly thus helping to maintain the ecological balance. The dye stuff ranges from Nila (INDIGO), Manjisthaa, (MADDAR), Haldi, Pomegranate, Heena, Iron Extract, etc. The colors are non-toxic and non-allergic and applicable on all kinds of fabrics like cotton, silk, tussar, chiffon, dupion silk, etc. This Block printing technique is a labor intensive activity, generating vast employment activities for tribal, traditional craftsmen and rural women, therefore is highly appluadable.
Despite the long laborious process the damage to the fabric during the dyeing and printing process is negligible compared to chemical dyes. The printers have managed to establish themselves and are trying to create awareness for this environment friendly process. A block printed fabric reflects the skill and craftsmanship and the personalized touch of a human hand makes this art an exclusive masterpiece.
“Pipar Print” is specialized in Block Printing
on All Type of Fabrics since last 100 Years.
We are proud to carry on ancient Indian tradition of dyeing & printing using
vegetables, herbs, minerals and in contrast to artificial synthetic chemicals.
The fine art of vegetable printing and dyeing dates back to the Indus Vally Civilization. When Indian Craftsmen turned out colour perfect printed textiles without the sophistication of the present day dye technology. The raw materials for these colours were not chemicals but the roots and flowers of plants and vegetables. The dyes extracted from these natural resources were then fixed to natural fibres as cotton, silk, wool etc. Though time consuming and laborious this process gave the best results.
Although this traditional craft has had its setback due to low cost, modern day synthetic printing processes on various fabrics, it has nevertheless managed to survive in India in various places.
Much effort has been taken for the survival of this craft and maintained its eco-friendly qualities. At PIPAR Print after years of research and experimentation and feeling the need for something new we have successfully developed a process of printing on silk fabrics with natural vegetable dyes in variety of attractive colours.
With greater public awareness and support for vegetable dyes and printing using natural ingredients, we have managed to establish ourselves and are trying to create awareness for this environment friendly process.
We at PIPAR Print come from a family of traditional dyers & printers from the Rajasthan, India.
Textile dyeing and printing activity has been our family business for generations.
We have traditionally always used natural vegetable-based dyes, which are Environment friendly, for printing on cotton textiles and other natural fabrics. The process was so sensitive that delicate fabric like silk could not be printed in the same manner. Seeing this need, we through in house research and innovation have successfully developed a process for dyeing and printing of silk fabrics with natural Eco friendly vegetable dyes. The results of this printing on expensive fabrics like silk has been accepted very eagerly by people in India as well as our overseas buyers from New York, France, Japan, Spain, Europe & Russia etc.
